Post-Installation Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting web access connectivity issues entails verifying the operational status of Thinfinity® Workspace services, inspecting firewall configurations to ensure open access to the designated port (TCP port 9443), confirming that no conflicting applications are occupying the same port, and reinitializing the Thinfinity Workspace services if functionality is disrupted.

If you encounter errors during or immediately after installation, use this table to identify the cause.

Error / Symptom Possible Cause Recommended Action
“Connection Refused” (9443) Firewall is blocking the port or service isn’t running. Ensure TCP 9443 is open in Windows Firewall and verify the Gateway service status.
Binding Error 183 Another application is already using the designated port. Use netstat -ano to find the conflicting app or change the Thinfinity port in the General tab.
Binding Error 5 The application lacks permission to bind to the port. Restart the Configuration Manager as an Administrator.
DB Connection Failed SQL Instance is stopped or ODBC driver is missing. Start the SQL Server service and verify the ODBC Driver 18 installation.
Blank Web Page JavaScript is disabled in the client’s browser. Enable JavaScript in browser settings and ensure the browser is HTML5-compliant.
Services Won’t Start Insufficient disk space or account permission issues. Check for free disk space (50GB+ SSD recommended) and verify service logon credentials.
WAG Profile Fails to Start The deployment is bound to HTTP. WAG features that depend on a secure origin — such as the service worker or the Web Application Firewall — can’t initialize or be removed without the secure port. Bind Thinfinity Workspace to HTTPS and restart the services.
